Home : The Need For Hittin Institute

The need for such an Institute has become more so indispensable recently; the misrepresentation of Islam and the propagation of non-Islamic views akin to a new brand of ‘modern-Islam’ has made a response and clarification of Islam’s position in relation to Western modernity essential.

The Institute recognises that there are many issues that Muslims generally agree upon, and in a time when these very issues are contended, a collective effort against those seeking to misconstrue notions that are central to Islamic doctrine and practice is imperative. The Institute aims to provide a platform for the forming of positive partnerships and networks geared towards presenting accurate analysis and research on issues affecting Muslims and the wider community.

The Institute promotes dialogue with the indigenous non-Muslim public, and aims to resolve common misconceptions by delineating Islam’s correct position on a range of matters in accordance with orthodox mainstream Islamic teachings.

O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations
and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with
Allâh is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa [i.e. one of the Muttaqûn (pious - see V.2:2).
Verily, Allâh is All-Knowing, All-Aware.
